Winsome was honored with the Frederick Douglass Award during the annual Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration hosted by the Douglass Leadership Institute.

The award was presented by Bishop Hunt in recognition of her service to the Commonwealth of Virginia and her historic achievements as the first woman, first Black woman, and first female veteran elected to statewide office in Virginia.

The Juneteenth Jubilee celebrates leadership, service, and the enduring legacy of Frederick Douglass while bringing together community leaders, elected officials, and citizens from across the region.
